‘No Excuses He Coulda Stopped By A Gas Station’: California Homeowner Goes Outside After Amazon Delivery. Then She Sees What Driver Did To Her Home

Over the past few years, numerous stories have come out about just how much Amazon drivers are expected to work.

One story from 2021 found that Amazon drivers were peeing in bottles in order to save time on busy routes, a problem of which the company was provably aware. Drivers have also complained about the sheer number of stops they must make on a single trip—and that’s not even mentioning the other things drivers can encounter on their routes, such as bears and active police standoffs.

Given just how hard these employees work, it’s not exactly a surprise that they’ll occasionally engage in some reckless behavior. This can result in some pretty gross experiences, as California TikTok user Daph (@daphbee) learned in a video with over 161,000 views.

What Did An Amazon Driver Do To This House?

In her video, the TikToker shows an outdoor area of her house. It’s clear that one section of the wall is wet.

“@Amazon please thank your driver for peeing outside our garage door,” she writes in the text overlaying the video.

Amazingly, this isn’t even the first story about an Amazon driver using a California homeowner’s property as a toilet to come out this summer.

Back in May, an Amazon driver was fired after being caught on camera defecating on customers’ lawns—twice.

What Should Someone Do In This Situation?

Hopefully, something like this will never happen to you. However, if it does, there are a few steps you can take to seek retribution.

First, you can reach out to Amazon and explain what happened. From there, they will likely offer an apology and investigate the incident further, which some internet users have claimed resulted in financial compensation.

Second, if something like this causes damage to the property, one can reach out to both the police and their insurer. Public urination is a crime in every state, and if there are damages resulting from the driver’s behavior, it’s possible that one would be able to seek compensation for those damages.

Commenters Are Divided

While almost everyone in the comments section found the driver’s behavior gross, some didn’t blame them given the intense Amazon work schedule. And a few even questioned why the TikToker was bothered by it.

“Were you planning on eating in that corner orrrr?” wrote a user.

“Don’t blame the driver. Blame Amazon policy,” added another.

“Not saying it’s okay but think back. I’m sure we’ve all been in this spot before,” offered a third.

That said, many were opposed to the driver’s actions.

“Umm how do some of yall think this is acceptable lol,” said a commenter. “at least go in a bush lmao.”

“He’s literally to blame. HE peed on their house,” declared a second. “no one made him.”

“I cannot for the life of me understand how people are trying to say that this isn’t a big deal??? he peed on their house,” detailed a further TikToker.
