Disgraced actor Armie Hammer has landed his first role since crashing out of the industry due to allegations of assault and cannibalistic rumors.

While Armie Hammer was never charged due to a lack of evidence, the now 38-year-old actor was accused of alleged sexual assault/abuse by multiple women, including his ex-girlfriend Efrosina Angelova.

Paige Lorenze, one of Hammer’s accusers, alleged that the Lone Ranger star “branded her, purposefully left her covered in bruises, and talked about ‘consuming her.'”

Now more than three years since the allegations derailed Hammer’s career in January 2021, the former A-lister has landed his first acting role in a Western thriller titled Frontier Crucible.

“Pitched as Reservoir Dogs meets Bone Tomahawk, and set in the Arizona Territory of the 1870s, the film will follow a former soldier with a tragic past who is thrown into an uneasy alliance with three outlaws, a beautiful woman, and her wounded husband, in an attempt to survive the elements and hostiles of the western frontier.”

“Hammer will play one of the ‘key roles’ in Frontier Crucible. Also starring will be Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown, Eddie Spears, Zane Holtz, Jonah Kagen and Mary Stickley.” [via Deadline]

Perhaps Hammer has decided to get serious about a return to acting now that a new adaptation of American Psycho is in the works from Luca Guadagnino, whom Hammer famously worked with on Call Me By Your Name, the most acclaimed film of his career other than The Social Network.

Hammer’s last movie appearance was in 2022, when he starred in Death on the Nile. That film, however, was shot in 2019 and was originally scheduled to be released that same year.

Earlier this year, Hammer broke his media silence with appearances on Bill Maher’s and Piers Morgan’s shows. This month, it was also announced that Hammer was launching a podcast called The Armie HammerTime Podcast.
