John Wick’s go-to drink is a bourbon. In John Wick: Chapter 2, Common’s character Cassian orders a gin. Ian McShane’s Winston drinks a martini through the entire franchise. So what should Ana de Armas‘ Ballerina have for her signature drink?

Speaking to Ana de Armas ahead of the release of her new film From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, we asked the Academy Award nominated actress what Eve Maccaro’s signature drink in the John Wick universe should be.

Given de Armas’ Latin and Spanish heritage — she was born in Havana, Cuba before moving to Madrid, Spain when she was 18-years-old — her answer shouldn’t come as much of a surprise: tequila.

“”Oh wow. I think — I was going to go for a martini too. But let’s go with a tequila shot. You know, why not?” de Armas replied to our interview-closing question, which you can check out below.

Alongside de Armas in the titular role, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina also features Keanu Reeves returning as the legendary Baba Yaga alongside Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Lance Reddick in a posthumous performance.

Check out the official synopsis and first-look clip from Ballerina below.

“Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.”
