Bam Margera Slams The Door On A Potential ‘Jackass’ Reunion: ‘You Couldn’t Offer Me Enough Money’

It seems like Jackass may have officially run its course in the wake of the movie that was released a few years ago. However, Bam Margera made it pretty clear he won’t be participating if the gang gets back together again following his highly publicized breakup with the group of daredevils.

Bam Margera played an instrumental role in Jackass coming into existence, as the videos he shot with the CKY crew (which also boasted Ryan Dunn and Brandon DiCamillo) caught the attention of producer Jeff Tremaine as he was working with Johnny Knoxville to develop the series that became a cultural sensation when it debuted on MTV in 2000.

The skateboarder became an integral member of the Jackass cast before getting his own spinoff in the form of Viva La Bam, and he was also one of a few members who ended up waging a fairly public battle with substance abuse due to the issues with drugs and alcohol he’s been grappling with for decades.

It appears Margera has thankfully gotten back on the right track over the past year or so after more than a dozen stints in rehab that were interspersed with a string of arrests, and he’s been incredibly candid about the problems he’s had to overcome to reach that point.

That includes a fallout that led to him being excluded from the fourth film in the Jackass franchise, which created a rift that may be too wide to bridge based on what he had to say about his relationship with the rest of the guys.

Margera was deep in the throes of addiction when production began on Jackass Forever in the lingering wake of the pandemic, and Paramount was understandably hesitant to allow him to participate in the project due to fears he’d be a liability.

Tremaine and Knoxville initially went to bat for their longtime colleague, but things took a turn for the worse at the start of 2021 when Margera admitted to relapsing in a string of worrying videos where he went after them over the contract that required him to submit to random drug screens and maintain his sobriety while the movie was being filmed.

He was subsequently fired but continued to wage a campaign of harassment that escalated to the point where Tremaine went to court to obtain a restraining order. Margera responded with a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination that was settled in 2022, and while he did ultimately pop up in the “Marching Band” stunt that left Knoxville with a brain hemorrhage, that ended up being his only contribution.

Jackass Forever was positioned as a last ride for the aging members of the collective, and if that ends up being the case, it was a very fitting end. There’s always a chance they end up reuniting, but based on what Margera had to say during a recent interview with Cinemablend, he won’t be in the mix, saying:

“They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it and I just, you couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them.

The damage has been done.”

You also have to wonder if they’d be scrambling to invite him back, but it definitely sounds like that chapter in Margera’s life has ended either way.
