Comedian and actor Bill Burr has shared his thoughts on the way the media is covering Luigi Mangione, the alleged shooter in the United HealthCare CEO shooting. Burr made the comments on his podcast.

According to Bill Burr, the media is ignoring the “lack of empathy” that people feel toward Brian Thompson, the United HealthCare CEO who was shot dead in New York City earlier this week.

Burr continued to rail against the healthcare industry and expressed that he’s glad that corporate CEOs are feeling “afraid” as a result of the shooting that was allegedly carried out by Luigi Mangione.

“You know what’s annoying me about this kid who killed this CEO? None of these news programs are talking about (how) the incredible lack of empathy from the general public about this is because of how these insurance treat people when they’re at their most vulnerable, after we’ve all given them our money every f—— month, and now we need you, and all you do is deny us,” Burr said on his podcast.

“I was sitting there reading an article and a guy was like, ‘Oh my god, he’s such a great guy. He had a wife and kids, and he’s such a great guy.’ And then you find out, he and the other guys he’s working for are getting sued for $121 million for dumping a stock and not letting the other people know,” he says in a clip that’s gone viral on social media.

“They’re gangsters, dude. And then one of them gets whacked or something, they’re like, ‘I was good, he was such a good guy. It’s a dirty game — healthcare… Dirty game.”

Burr also said he’s glad that other corporate CEOs sweating in the wake of Thompson’s death.

“You know, I gotta be honest with you, OK? I love that f—— CEOs are f—— afraid right now. You should be!”

Mangione, 26 years old, was arrested on Monday at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was allegedly in possession of a gun, bullets, multiple fake IDs and cash.

Reports indicate the words “deny”, “defend” and “depose” were written on shell casings found at the scene of Thompson’s murder outside the Midtown Manhattan Hilton Hotel on December 4th.
