Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis has provided an update on the condition of the famed actor, who was diagnosed with diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023. Accoring to Heming, while Willis is in “really great health,” his brain is “failing him.”
The iconic Die Hard star has not been seen in public in a few years, with the only glimpses of Bruce Willis coming via his family’s social media, especially when they celebrate his birthday.
In the upcoming ABC special Emma and Bruce Willis – The Unexpected Journey. A Diane Sawyer Special , though, Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis — whom he’s been married to since 2009 — will be shedding further light on the 70-year-old actor’s current condition.
Bruce Willis’ wife says that while he’s in “great health” his brain is “failing”
“Bruce is still very mobile. Bruce is in really great health overall, you know. It’s just his brain that is failing him,” the 47-year-old former model and actress says in the upcoming ABC special.
Heming adds that “language is going” and that they’ve “learned to adapt” by communicating with him in “a different way.”
After Sawyer questioned whether there are still “days that it would be Bruce again,” Heming replied that they don’t get days, but “moments” of the old Bruce.
“It’s his laugh, right? Like, he has such, like, a hearty laugh. And, you know, sometimes you’ll see that twinkle in his eye, or that smirk, and, you know, I just get, like, transported… And it’s just hard to see, because as quickly as those moments appear, then it goes. It’s hard. But I’m grateful, “I’m grateful that my husband is still very much here.”
