Conservative internet personality Candace Owens decided to give a platform to infamous convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, which he then used to proclaim his innocence.

Despite already being convicted multiple charges of r— in California and facing additional charges in New York (he’s heading to a retrial after his previous New York conviction was overturned), and being accused of various levels of sexual misconduct/assault by over 80 women, the 73-year-old Harvey Weinstein told Candace Owens that he “did not commit these crimes.”

According to Weinstein — who did the interview with Owens from behind bars in prison — his transgressions were “mistakes” but were not “illegal.”

“I hurt my family. I hurt my friends. I cheated on my wife. And that was a mistake, you know, a terrible mistake. But I did not commit these crimes. I swear that before God, and the people watching now, and on my family,” the disgraced Hollywood producer said.

Weinstein also addressed allegations made by specific actors, such as Gwyneth Paltrow (a few years back, we shared the story of Brad Pitt reportedly threatening Weinstein to stay away from Paltrow when the pair were dating in the late 90s).

“She thought the relationship was abusive. Anybody who was there, who witnessed that relationship with [Paltrow], it just turned into total friends. There’s pictures of her hugging me when I was sick and in the hospital and didn’t think I was gonna make it in 1999. Gwyneth, at the Golden Globes, said, ‘Bomber, we miss you.’ She got up and made a speech about me. Nobody asked her to do that. In her Academy speech, she thanks me.”

As for Weinstein’s latest legal developments, he’s currently on trial in New York for two counts of committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree and one count of third-degree r–, with the charges stemming from allegations made by former TV production assistant Miriam Haley, former aspiring actor Jessica Mann, and former model Kaja Sokola.
