An Amazon Prime delivery truck was struck head-on by a car while parked at a curb on Tuesday in Mineral Wells, Texas. Despite being inside the delivery truck when it was smashed into, the Amazon Prime courier still delivered the package.

The accident, and the subsequent delivery of the package, were both caught on video by a doorbell camera. In the video, Dashon Holloman, the Amazon Prime driver, can be seen exiting the truck after the collision, limping up the home’s sidewalk to deliver the package, then neighbors arriving to check on him and the driver of the car. Luckily, both drivers reportedly suffered only minor injuries, were treated on scene by EMS and released.

What happened?

The driver of the car reportedly fell asleep at the wheel after leaving his job. Police also reported that he was driving without a valid license and received a ticket for the violation. Neither alcohol nor excessive speed had anything to do with the crash, they reported.

“Officers on scene were told the at-fault driver had been at work that morning and was taking the car to drop it off with someone else,” police said, according to Fox News. “A co-worker was following him when the accident occurred.”

He still made his delivery

The owner of the doorbell camera that captured the wild video told Fox 4 News that when she went to check on the drivers of the vehicles, the Amazon delivery man asked her, “Did you get your package?”

“He had just made a delivery to my neighbor’s house, and so I had just seen him get back in his car and drive off,” said another neighbor. “Then not even two minutes later I hear a huge boom outside and hear him screaming out there.”

Fox 4 News reported that Holloman was in “good spirits” when they spoke to him on the phone and that Amazon was helpful after the crash. He also said he made sure everyone got their packages before going to get his knee checked out at a local hospital.

“We’re thankful both drivers are safe and appreciate the customer’s concern and immediate assistance after this incident,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement.

Amazon delivery drivers are different

Holloman now joins other Amazon drivers in the annals of going above and beyond to make a delivery. In 2023, an Amazon delivery driver was caught on camera approaching an apartment complex surrounded by multiple law enforcement agencies, vehicles and hundreds of police officers. Not showing even the slightest hint of fear, he handed a package to one of the SWAT team members, snapped a photo to confirm its delivery, and walked off on his merry way.

Another Amazon driver, also in 2023, was seen casually scaring off a bear so he could make his delivery. He did this despite the presumed homeowner shouting at him to stop and go back to his delivery truck.
