Food delivery apps have made getting any kind of cuisine sent straight to your door easier than ever. However, there was once a time when the only food you could expect to show up hot and ready was pizza.

For every pizza that needed to be delivered, there was a pizza delivery person to do it. And often, when they arrived at the house, they got more than they bargained for. The internet is full of tales of the pizza guy, from delivery drivers who were tipped with drugs to drivers who show up to a house only to stumble into an active police situation.

Sometimes it’s the customers who end up with a surprise, as TikTok user Nataley (@lusxtzz) recently shared.

What Went Wrong With This Domino’s Delivery?

In a post with over 70,000 views, Nataley shows the box for a pizza delivery she says she received from Domino’s.

“@Domino’s @Domino’s Pizza GET IT TOGETHERRR!” she wrote in the caption of the post. “All i wanted was ONE pizza, and it was already an hour late, and then i opened the box to this.”

The pizza appears to be in good condition. However, the top of the box has an unmistakable message: a large “FU.”

In the comments section of the video, Nataley elaborates as to what happened.

According to her, she had ordered the pizza about an hour and a half before the restaurant closed. Despite this, “the delivery guy showed up about 50 minutes after i ordered my pizza, to look in the backseat and say he grabbed the wrong order and didn’t have my pizza, had to wait an extra 20 minutes for him to come back.”

“Wasn’t even really mad about waiting but THIS??” she adds.

In later comments, she claims that she went to the manager and asked about the incident. The manager, she says, believed her but was “flabbergasted.” She also notes that this wasn’t due to a lack of tip, as she provided cash for the driver upon arrival.

Who Was Responsible?

Immediately, commenters began to speculate about how and why something like this could have happened.

Some blamed the delivery driver; others said that someone in the kitchen must have been involved.

“The delivery drivers usually aren’t spending much time in the kitchen, especially when they are super busy,” wrote a commenter. “My guess is that the pizza needed remade and he had to wait for it so he ended up cutting and boxing it. He was probably upset that he missed out on other tips during that time. But he, or the kitchen staff are the ones who made the mistake so taking it out on you is just asking for trouble.”

“Whoever did this is risking their entire job,” offered another. “I don’t think it was meant for you, especially the way they brought you the wrong one first.”

No one is sure at what point the message was added and what material was used to do it. But people receiving notes or messages with their pizza isn’t uncommon.

Sometimes, the messages are positive. For example, after asking her pizza guy for a joke, this Redditor received a box featuring an affirmation of love and positivity. In contrast, one Domino’s customer alleged that their pizza arrived with the message, “We would appreciate it very much if you didn’t wait until five minutes before we close.”

Commenters Support The Customer

In the comments section, many claimed that there was no behavior that justified this sort of response. Others shared how they would respond to such an incident.

“I am NOT eating that,” declared one highly rated commenter.

“Id be calling corporate like a Karen so quick,” added another.

“Ppl in the comments excusing ts and saying they should’ve tipped or what if it’s right before closing, erm,” offered a third. “She paid them for the pizza either way. They got paid to do the job for her and they did it w attitude. Helly no.”
