‘We Told Them We Needed A New Flight’: Arizona Woman Books Trip To Europe. She Ends Up On The Wrong Continent

A pair of women may have just taken the cake for the most spot-on “Jet 2 Holiday” moment yet. The unlucky travelers are the epitome of the viral TikTok trend depicting vacation woes after they booked a trip to France, only to end up in an entirely different part of the world.

Brittney Dzialo’s (@brittneydzialo_) initial viral clip raked in over 26 million views, and since then, she has taken viewers on the journey that took a very wrong turn. In the end, folks learned a valuable lesson in miscommunication—and so did the women.

In the first video of the saga, one of the women deplanes a TunisAir aircraft and gives a twirl. The on-screen text reads, “When the airline employee misheard us when we said we needed a flight to Nice, France and we land in Tunis, AFRICA.”

Boarding The Wrong Flight

Like any good influencer, Dzialo gave viewers the exact moment they realized they messed up. It just happened to be when they were already boarded. In a follow-up clip, a fellow passenger asks the woman, “Where are you going?”

This led Brittney’s friend, Hannah, to ask, “Is this going to Nice?”

“Tunis, yeah,” the passenger replies. “I thought you said to Nice, which is in France.”

The realization dawns on Hannah. She says, “Wait, where is this going?

“In Tunisia,” the passenger responds. “You’re not going to France, right?”

When Hannah says yes, that was the plan, the passenger is in disbelief. The passenger says, “You are going to France??”

The women begin freaking out as the flight attendant tells them to keep moving. They scramble to find Tunis on their Apple Maps and then seek help from a flight attendant. Once again, the flight attendant reiterates that they are, in fact, not going to France, but to Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, which is a country in North Africa.

Needless to say, thousands of commenters were befuddled as to how a situation like this could even happen. Dzialo addressed that very question in a comment.

“Two tickets to Nice, please.” “Right, two tickets, Tunis. There you go,’” one commented.

Dzialo replied, “That’s exactly what happened.”

Did They Get Off The Wrong Flight Plane?

In follow-up clips, Dzialo shows her and her friend attempting to get off the flight, even talking to the pilot. The pilot tells them that, since they have luggage, they would have to get on the correct plane “after this flight.” The video concludes with them taking a seat. The update after that shows them in an office with a presumably TunisAir worker. “Made it to Africa,” Brittney writes in the caption.

Brittney explains to a worker at the counter in Tunis that the worker in Rome accidentally booked them flights to Tunis instead of Nice. Other videos show Hannah attempting to explain to workers what exactly happened.
“We’re not supposed to be here,” Hannah says. In one of the clips, Hannah is begging for a flight “anywhere” as long as it’s out of Africa. The workers tell them there aren’t any until the next day.

Brittney shares how she had to pull out her “bestie,” aka ChatGPT, to find out about EU regulations on “misrouted” flights. Unsurprisingly, viewers blame the entire debacle on Brittney and her friend. When questioned why they didn’t cross-check their documents, Brittney replied, “Every time we asked a worker if this was going ‘to nice’ they all said yes.”

A Guardian Angel

After being “yelled at” by one of the supervisors, Brittney says she tried her luck one last time with another female supervisor. Seeing how stressed and in tears they were, the woman had an entire plane wait for them so they could board. She notes, however, that they did have to pay for it.

Eventually, the women do end up making it to Nice, comma, France, and appear elated, albeit exhausted. The women go over how it was the most awful experience they wouldn’t wish on “any enemy.”

Needless to say, thousands of folks took issue with those sentiments.

Tunisia Defenders Flood The Comments

Several folks were side-eyeing Brittney and Hannah for acting like Tunis was a “war zone.” Many shared photos of the beautiful country and said the pair should’ve just explored Tunisia instead. Brittney replied she would’ve if she were more “prepared.” According to her, they already had several plans in France.

When Hannah said in a clip that it was scary “especially in a country where they don’t understand English,” many pointed out how France wasn’t an English-speaking country, either. Others maintained that the girls were at fault for boarding the wrong flight.

“I think instead of ‘especially in a country where they don’t understand English’ you mean ‘especially in a country where we don’t speak the native language’ is what you mean,’” one commenter wrote.

Several others urged Brittney to simply “read” next time, which she said she would.
