An upcoming exhibition of supposed “real Bigfoot remains” that will be showcased at the New York State Fair has upset some of the biggest names in the Sasquatch research community very fired up. And not in a good way.

A press release announcing the exhibit claims this discovery is “being hailed as one of the most monumental biological discoveries in recorded history.” It will supposedly “present irrefutable physical evidence and shocking DNA revelations that prove the creature is the long-sought-after missing link in human evolution.”

The Bigfoot remains were allegedly discovered in the fall of 2024 “deep within the Adirondack mountains by veteran cryptozoologist and lead investigator Charles ‘Snake’ Stuart.” However, as the press release states, “the discovery has been met with both fierce debate and resistance from mainstream scientific institutions.”

That would be an understatement. This “discovery” has not only met resistance from the mainstream scientific community, it has also been met with much backlash from the cryptozoology community, which isn’t even based on real science!

The Bigfoot community is upset

Matt Moneymaker, founder of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, blasted the upcoming exhibition and the man behind it in a scathing post on Facebook.

“A newcomer hoaxer/scammer going by the name Charles ‘Snake’ Stuart is claiming to have a Bigfoot corpse that he will exhibit at New York State Fair in August 2025. No, he doesn’t actually have Bigfoot remains. It’s just a cheesey fake dead Bigfoot, perhaps a little bit better than Tom Biscardi’s famous fake dead Bigfoot.

“A hoax by itself is not necessarily a crime. But when the false claims underlie a sales pitch for money, then the hoax becomes fraud. It crosses the line to illegality. ‘Snake’ will learn the hard way about that. ‘Snake’ makes several unambiguous claims that his exhibit has real Bigfoot remains, backed up by DNA analysis that he claimed was performed by Cornell University, the results of which shows his Bigfoot remains are that of a Neanderthal.

“In the real world, Cornell University in particular has always been steadfast in their refusals to get involved in ANYTHING related to the Bigfoot subject, especially DNA analysis. So that is one of many false claims by this exhibitor.”

Sasquatch researcher Steve Kulls also attempted to debunk Stuart’s claims. He did a deep dive on Charles Stuart, the person, and came up with what he believes are numerous suspicious findings.

Local news lends credibility

Last week, a report by WRGB News in Albany appeared to lend some credibility to Stuart’s claims.

The creature, nicknamed “Dack,” stands approximately 8 feet tall, with a heavily muscled build and thick, brown hair covering most of its body. Its facial features are a mix of human and ape-like characteristics, including a heavy brow ridge and a wide, powerful jaw. The cause of death remains unknown, with no obvious signs of trauma or injury.

The investigation has revealed several key insights into Bigfoot’s biology. A fresh scat sample indicated that Bigfoot is an omnivore, with a diet consisting of both plant matter and animal tissue. The presence of parasites suggests a scavenger diet. Advanced image scanning of the skeletal system has provided new insights into Bigfoot’s size, posture, and locomotion.

The display will be open to the public from August 20th to September 1st. Tickets to the exhibition will cost between $7.18 and $9.31.

“If you pay the fee for this fake exhibit based on his fraudulent claims then you have a great case against him for fraud,” Moneymaker claimed in his post, “He won’t just owe you what you paid for the ticket. No, a judge will likely attach further penalties for his fraud scheme.”

Whether that, or anything else related to this Bigfoot exhibition is true, remains to be seen.
