‘I’m Actually Pretty Scared’: Florida Woman Makes Strawberry Toaster Strudel. Then She Takes A Bite

One Florida woman says she bit into a Pillsbury Strawberry Toaster Strudel and found something unusual inside.

She shared the moment on TikTok, where the video got people talking and prompted a quick response from Pillsbury.

What Was Inside The Toaster Strudel?

TikTok creator Nikki Gallo (@itsmenikkig) posted a video showing the inside of what should’ve been a strawberry filling, getting over 14,700 views.

Instead of jam, it was filled with what looked like raw white powder.

“Everyone else’s was normal,” she says in the video. “OK, it’s like f—— powder.”

She pulls the strudel apart on camera. The inside is filled with a fine, white dust.

“I did eat some,” she admits. “And I was like, wait, this isn’t right.”

She keeps peeling back layers, showing the powder packed where the jam should’ve been.

“This is so weird,” she says. “Is it like powder mix for bread? I don’t know.”

There’s one tiny red spot tucked near the edge. “Oh, look. A little spot where there would be jam,” she adds.

The whole thing left her feeling uneasy.

Pillsbury Responds Quickly

Not long after she posted the video, Pillsbury left a comment.

“Sorry to see what happened! We’d like to report this to our team and send out a voucher to replace the dough for you. Can you please send us a DM?” the company wrote.

Nikki did, and it followed up with an apology and an explanation via email.

“Based on your description,” the company wrote, “it is possible the material you described is an accumulation of ingredients that were not thoroughly blended.”

Pillsbury said uneven distribution during the blending process may have caused the white powder to form instead of the usual filling.

Additionally, it confirmed it reported her complaint to the proper department and sent her three free product vouchers, along with a letter of apology.

“Thanks Pillsbury for acknowledging what happened and for making it right,” Nikki said in a follow-up.

How Does Something Like This Even Happen?

Food manufacturing isn’t perfect. Even large-scale brands like Pillsbury rely on machines, blending systems, conveyor belts, and a lot of behind-the-scenes moving parts to package and freeze products.

When something goes wrong, like a filling station malfunction or an improperly mixed batch, customers are the first to notice.

We don’t know what exactly happened in Nikki’s case, but we’ve reached out to Pillsbury to learn more.

TikTok Reacts With Jokes And Concerns

Commenters had a lot to say, ranging from conspiracy theories to plausible guesses.

“That was a cartel box… they gone be mad!” one person joked.

Another viewer had just seen a different viral food fail. They said, “There is some serious quality control issues going on right now. I just came from a vid of a girl finding a dead baked mouse in her bread.”

“Hopefully that’s just flour,” someone else wrote.

Others suggested a machinery problem. One said, “The machine that stuffed them most likely malfunctioned on the conveyor belt & instead of stuffing it with jelly it probably stuffed it with flour. It’s all done with machines.”
