‘We Both Already Ate One’: Florida Woman Orders Taco Bell. Then She Sees Something Moving In Her Taco

Few things will kill your appetite faster than finding something in your meal that absolutely shouldn’t be there. A stray hair, a shard of plastic, or worse, a wriggling creature, can turn mealtime into a horror story in seconds.

It’s gross and raises bigger questions about food safety and what might slip through the cracks before your plate hits the table.

You might want to give your food a quick once-over to protect yourself from the very real health risks that can come with unexpected extras.

Uh, Is That A Worm?

In a viral video with more than 4.9 million views, content creator Jade (@jpatchen) shared that she was eating what looked like a chicken taco from Taco Bell when she noticed something strange.

Tucked in between the lettuce, chicken, hot sauce, and congealed yellow cheese was something that shouldn’t be there and was barely noticeable.

A long, super-thin white worm was wriggling in between the contents of the food. Be warned, the video might send chills down your spine.

“Taco Bell has a new flavor taco on the menu (we both already ate one taco before seeing this) (traumatized),” Jade said in the caption.

Any Update?

In a follow-up video, Jade shared paperwork showing that she was diagnosed with pinworm. She was prescribed a 200 milligram oral dose of albendazole for it.

Albendazole is an anti-parasitic medication used to treat a wide range of worm infections. Doctors commonly prescribe it for infections like pinworms, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms, WebMD stated.

It’s usually taken as a tablet, sometimes just a single dose. Though repeat doses may be needed depending on the type of infection.

What Is A Pinworm Infection?

A pinworm infection may sound like something out of a health-class horror story. But it’s actually one of the most common worm infections worldwide, especially in kids. While unpleasant, pinworm infections are rarely dangerous, Mayo Clinic reported.

Pinworms are tiny, thin, white worms about a quarter to half an inch long. They spread when people accidentally swallow or inhale their microscopic eggs, which can survive on surfaces for up to three weeks. That means they can hitch a ride on just about anything, like fingernails, bedding, toys, or even food.

The infection isn’t usually dangerous. But it can be extremely uncomfortable.

At night, female pinworms crawl out to lay thousands of eggs around the anus, often triggering itching, restless sleep, and irritability. Some people also experience stomach pain, bedwetting, or teeth grinding, though many people never develop symptoms at all.

Treatment typically involves a round of anti-parasite medication for the entire household, along with a thorough cleaning routine that includes washing bedding and clothes in hot water, disinfecting common surfaces, and reinforcing handwashing habits.

Doctors emphasize prevention as key. Things like keeping nails short, bathing daily, and avoiding scratching can break the cycle of reinfection.
