‘I Don’t Know What I Expected’: Florida Teen Steps In A Biohazard In A McDonald’s Lobby. Then McDonald’s ‘Gaslights’ Them

A Florida woman says that her teen son’s friend stepped in it at McDonald’s—literally. And she claims that instead of simply apologizing, the company “gaslit” her.

Britt Crews (@brittcrews808) posted about the stinky situation earlier in the week. She says that she dropped off her teenaged son and his friend at a St. Augustine, Florida McDonald’s. They went inside but not for long, Crews says.

Their dining plans were cut short because the friend stepped in human excrement, Crews alleges.

She claims that there was a full trail of feces that led into the handicapped stall in the men’s room.

“They need to take care of it, because that is unsanitary,” Crews says in a TikTok about it.

After the purported fecal incident, Crews drove them all home. On the way there, she says they got quite the unpleasant noseful.

“It was my son’s new Adidas Samba shoes,” Crews adds. “Take note, they’re new shoes. They’re like a hundred bucks.”

She put the shoe in a bag and contacted McDonald’s. The chain’s emailed response left a lot to be desired, Crews says.

“They basically gaslit me,” Crews claims. “Told me that right before we got there somebody had walked in with feces on their shoe and there was no way they could prove it was human poop.”

Now she’s got a soiled shoe and a conundrum. “I don’t really want to scrub human poop off the bottom of a shoe. I don’t really want to take like a scrubber to it. That’s just … gross,” Crews says.

She didn’t immediately respond to a TikTok direct message from BroBible.

Ba Da Ba Ba Ba… Not Lovin’ It

Coming into contact with human feces isn’t just disgusting, it’s a health risk.

Human waste can contain various bacteria, parasites, and other pathogens. These can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal discomfort.

While stepping in it is one way you can inadvertently end up with poop on your hands, it’s much more common to come into contact with it because someone didn’t wash theirs after defecating. Turns out all those pandemic warnings about hand washing weren’t hyperbole.

McDonald’s, like any restaurant, has to take the presence of feces seriously. Diners could be literally sickened. As Crews alludes, it is also subject to health inspections. Feces on the floor certainly doesn’t pass muster with even the most laid-back health inspector. Though it is likely that the mess was cleaned up pretty quickly.

Crews says she didn’t contact the authorities but wishes the company had been more considerate in its response.

Crews claims they’re making her feel stupid. She says McDonald’s emailed response was “totally scripted” and basically a cut-and-paste job. Now she’s not sure what is the right course of action.

“I don’t know. What would you do? I feel totally gaslit, and it’s not cool,” she says.

McDonald’s didn’t immediately respond to BroBible’s email seeking comment.
