When it comes to relationships, arguably one of the biggest fears is infidelity. Not only is it a betrayal of trust, but studies show that being cheated on leaves the person traumatized. And while finding out your partner cheated is a devastating thing to experience, folks online have found ways to cope: by turning it into content.
For example, one woman earned millions of views after she revealed how an avocado exposed her partner’s cheating. Much like how Shakira knew her husband was cheating because someone was using her favorite jam, this woman knew someone other than her boyfriend was eating avocados in his kitchen.
Now, another woman has gone viral after sharing alleged proof—albeit unconventional—that her partner was probably cheating on her.
How Did The Fridge Expose His Cheating?
In a viral TikTok, Piper Smith (@piper.denise.smith) films her fridge—the stainless steel appliance looks normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Until she zooms in on the door and shows small circular marks.
“Did I just find out I’m being cheated on…” she writes in the text overlay.
Someone who wouldn’t know any better wouldn’t catch that small detail. But Smith knew what those marks meant.
“I don’t own one of these things. But I’m pretty sure a guy wouldn’t have one on his phone. … And why the kitchen,” she added in the caption.
What Smith is referring to is an Octobuddy case. It’s a phone accessory with suction cups that allows you to stick your phone onto any surface so you can record. As Smith said, neither she nor her boyfriend owns one, leading her to speculate that he more than likely brought someone else into the house.
This wouldn’t be the first time an Octobuddy was at the “scene of the crime.” Earlier in the year, another creator claimed to have caught her boyfriend cheating after she saw Octobuddy marks on his windshield. Her story added to the plethora of clues women have found in their boyfriend’s car that point to infidelity. For example, one girl found a Louis Vuitton purse under her man’s driver’s seat. Another discovered a telltale sign her boyfriend cheated.
What Do Viewers Think?
Several of Smith’s commenters were confused about what an Octobuddy was. However, the majority knew exactly what it represented. Several vowed to help her find the “other woman.”
“Show us what we would see if you recorded a video from your fridge incase we come across #her video,” one suggested. Another wrote, “clean it and wait for it to appear again don’t show your hand yet.”
A third user advised Smith to look at her boyfriend’s followings: “Someone’s mirror selfie might give you an idea.”
A few users offered other, less nefarious reasons an Octobuddy print might be there. Like one who wrote, “Do you by chance have a house cleaner? Cause I do and found the same on my fridge and turns out my cleaner was making content for her social media while cleaning my house.”
@piper.denise.smith I don’t own one of these things, but I’m pretty sure a guy wouldn’t have one on his phone…. And why the kitchen 🫤
While Smith did not confirm whether her man was indeed cheating, she posted a follow-up video with the following caption: “Thank you to all the love and support I woke up to this morning. I would definitely prefer to cry in bed all day but I’ll be dammed if these babies see mommy sad. Hopefully anyone having a hard day sees this and knows they will be okay, it’s just one foot infront of the other.”
