Girl Scout Cookies have a special place in American culture, and it’s hard to resist the urge to pick up a few boxes when you come across a troop peddling the beloved baked goods. It’s hard to go wrong with any of the options, but there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Here’s our ranking of every Girl Scout Cookie in the current lineup
This article was written prior to the start of the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Season, which will see a Rocky Road ice cream-inspired variety dubbed “Exploremores” added to a rotation that will no longer feature Toast Yays! and S’Mores. As a result, I’ve declined to exclude those last two from this evaluation as they joined the more than 60 discontinued offerings that have also gone extinct.
Also, Girl Scout Cookies are produced by two different companies that are officially licensed to make them: ABC Bakers (a subsidiary of Interbake) and Little Brownie Bakers (which is owned and operated by Keebler). They both assigned different names to a handful of varieties that are shipped to the regions in the distribution networks they’re each responsible for supplying, and I’ve included both of those monikers in situations where that applies.
10. Trefoils

Girl Scouts of the USA
This is the O.G. Girl Scout Cookie, as the Girl Scout Federation of Greater New York drew inspiration from the organization’s logo while creating the die that was used to cut the cookies that became the first ones that were produced by a commercial baker when they were whipped up in 1935.
One of these cookies had to come in last place, and while Trefoils walked so the rest of these could run, a simple shortbread cookie simply can’t hold its own against the compeition.
9. Lemonades

Girl Scouts of the USA
I’ll admit my personal bias comes into play a bit when it comes to the next two entries on this list, as I’ve never really been a huge fan of lemon-centric dessert options.
I guess some people who feel differently might rank Lemonades a little higher, but at the end of the day, they’re a basic cookie with a basic lemon icing.
8. Lemon Ups

Girl Scouts of the USA
I can’t imagine there are many people who get a huge emotional boost from a motivational message plastered on a baked good, which is the only thing that really sets Lemon Ups apart from Lemonades. However, that’s enough to earn it an extra spot.
7. Toffee-tastics

Girl Scouts of the USA
Toffee-tastics are a textbook example of untapped potential. I don’t think toffee tends to get the credit it deserves, but it also really doesn’t get the attention it deserves in these cookies thanks to the disappointingly meager size of the pieces scattered throughout them.
6. Caramel Chocolate Chip

Girl Scouts of the USA
A major part of the appeal of Girl Scout Cookies is their uniqueness. They may have spawned some off-brand imitators, but most of the members of the core lineup stand apart from a very crowded dessert crowd because you can really only get your fix once a year, and you’re probably not going to be able to whip up a similar option at home.

That is not the case with Caramel Chocolate Chip, which is a tasty yet fairly generic offering that subsequently lands in the middle of the pack thanks to its largely uninspired nature.
5. Adventurefuls

Girl Scouts of the USA
Adventurefuls are the newest permanent addition to the Girl Scout Cookie Lineup.
They might not have earned a spot in the top tier, but they’ve been a very welcome addition. The brownie-inspired cookie is a nice change of pace, and the “hint” of sea salt helps elevate the caramel crème in the middle.
4. Do-Si-Dos/Peanut Butter Sandwiches

Girl Scouts of the USA
Do-Si-Dos are essentially the Girl Scout Cookie equivalent of a Nutter Butter, and it’s hard to be disappointed if you’re looking to get your peanut butter fix. I feel like they’d be even better if there was some chocolate in the mix, but that’s thankfully a twist that’s addressed by another option we’ll discuss in a moment.
3. Thin Mints

Girl Scouts of the USA
There are plenty of people who would put Thin Mints at the top of their list when you consider they’ve historically been the best-selling Girl Scout Cookie; they’re responsible for around 25% of the boxes sold each year.
I get it, as it’s hard to beat a Thin Mint fresh out of the freezer (a storage option that not only allows you to extend their shelf life but really takes the mintiness to the next level). However, I’m not sure if I could make my way through a full box in one sitting before flavor fatigue set in—which is something I could definitely do with the last two on this list.
2. Samoas/Caramel DeLites

Girl Scouts of the USA
Shaved coconut can be an incredibly divisive food, and I would normally say I hate that particular ingredient with a fairly undying passion.
However, there is a very notable exception in the form of the Girl Scout Cookie that I’ve only known as “Samoas” but are also known as “Caramel DeLites” (contrary to what you may have led to believe online, the name has not been changed for the sake of political correctness).
The combination of caramel, chocolate, and coconut creates a sweet, chewy, and ever so slightly crunchy concoction that’s pretty hard to beat—well, aside from…
1. Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties

Girl Scouts of the USA
Chocolate and peanut butter go together like, well, chocolate and peanut butter, and Tagalongs are simply a chef’s kiss. I can’t necessarily blame anyone who would want to reorder the top three (or even four) Girl Scout Cookies on this list, but these are always going to be my G.O.A.T.
