Anyone who has purchased items sealed in clamshell packaging—tools, cosmetic products, or electronics—knows how difficult they can be to open, especially without scissors on hand. That’s why people are so interested in this man’s “valuable life hack.” He shows that all you need is your hands and a little bit of friction to get these bad boys open.
“Wait, let me show you a valuable life hack, OK?” TikTok creator Aaron Dizon (@aarondizon_) says as he pulls out a clamshell package that’s holding a Liyset tool inside. “This is how to open these packages without scissors.”
“What you’re gonna do is find a weak point where it bends,” the content creator explains. In this case, the weak point is beneath the Lyset logo on the package.
When Dizon repeatedly bends that spot in quick motions, he says that this creates “friction” and “heat,” which will further weaken the plastic, making it “easier to tear it open.”
He eventually rips open the packaging in a clean motion.
“Easy peasy,” he concludes.
He added in the caption of his video, “Here’s your one thing to learn today. Hope this helps you someday,” he captioned the video.
The Hack Is Praised
His video has been viewed 2.3 million times. Viewers are virtually clapping for Dizon and can’t wait to put his hack to use.
“Youve genuinely just given life changing information,” one viewer wrote.
“Oh my god you just changed the entire world,” another agreed.
A third was even was pleasantly surprised, “I thought this was going to be a joke but it’s actually really helpful.”
Others said they are racing to the nearest store to try the hack out for themselves.
“Boutta go buy an unopenable package to see if this works,” one commenter stated.
“I’m off to the store to buy something I don’t need to try this,” a second echoed.
How Did Dizon Discover This Hack?
Dizon shared in a comment that his knowledge of kinetic energy and how it works helped him come up with this hack. “When I learned about kinetic energy in like 4th grade haha. i really wanted to open a video game, didn’t have scissors and I thought of this,” he shared in the comments section.

“It was just a quick educational moment in case it helped someone,” he shared via Instagram direct message.
He’s used this trick since he was 8 years old, and it has always worked. “It always works! for thicker packaging sometimes you have to bend it a bit longer but it will eventually work,” he said.
