The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM could be coming to an end after a 20-year run. According to a report from The US Sun, Sirius XM believes they’re not close on a deal with Stern after his current deal, rumored to be worth a $100 million/ year, ends later this year.

“Stern’s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it,” one insider said of the impending end to the shock jock’s latest five-year contract.

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment.”

Various sources told The US Sun they believe Stern’s political rants against Donald Trump and the current “political climate” that led to Stephen Colbert being pulled off the air are the main reasons Stern will not be brought back by Sirius XM.

“After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going.”

“If Sirius isn’t going to give Stern a good offer, I don’t think it would have anything to do with his ratings,” the source claimed. “It’s more likely everything to do with the political climate.”

Before the 2024 election, Stern bashed Trump supporters on-air and said he wasn’t worried about losing half his audience.

“I don’t agree with Trump politically, I don’t think he should be anywhere near the White House. I don’t hate the guy. I hate the people who vote for him. I think they’re stupid. I do. I’ll be honest with you, I have no respect for you.”
