‘A Form Of Hell’: Hundreds Of Amazon Packages San Jose Woman Didn’t Order Delivered To Her Home For Over A Year

A California woman had hundreds of Amazon packages she didn’t order delivered to her home for over a year. Making her even more confused, all of the packages had the same contents inside of them: car seat covers. The woman, a resident of San Jose, has received so many of these Amazon packages that they are taking up half of her car port.

These Amazon packages are causing other issues

“What you see now is a fraction, because I have refused delivery on more packages than you see here,” the woman told ABC 7 News.

It’s no mystery where these car seat covers are coming from because she knows that they are connected to a Chinese online seller called “Liusandedian” on Amazon. Amazingly, despite her filing numerous complaints with Amazon, the product page is still online, though it does now say it is “Currently unavailable.”

Also, apparently the car seat covers don’t actually fit many of the cars owned by the people that were ordering them. Which is why they have spent money to ship them back to the seller. Unfortunately, the seller used this woman’s address on their return labels. Why? No one knows for sure.

“Oftentimes, what it costs to return it is about more than 50% of what they paid for it,” she said. “Plus, these consumers aren’t getting their money back!”

For months, Amazon did nothing to stop it

As one might imagine, she has contacted Amazon repeatedly about the issue. As one can also possibly imagine, Amazon didn’t do anything about it. Yet there is no website, contact information, or any other way of contacting “Liusandedian” on Amazon.

“…every time I was absolutely assured this will stop… you won’t get any more of these packages, you’ll hear from us in 24, 48 hours…” she said, adding that Amazon did offer to give her a $100 credit.

She also claims Amazon told her to just return the packages to the post office or Federal Express. She didn’t do that.

“Why is it my responsibility to get rid of this, when your seller is not following your rules Amazon?” she asked.

When ABC 7 News contacted Amazon about the packages, the company’s response was, “We’d like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ve apologized to the customer and are working directly with her to pick-up any packages while taking steps to permanently resolve this issue.”

They may have been “working with her directly,” but that process took a year and being contacted by a news show before the packages were actually, finally taken away.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened

Wildly enough, in 2023 a similar thing happened to a Virginia woman who had more than 100 Amazon packages that she didn’t order delivered to her home. Those packages contained 1,000 headlamps for running and biking, 800 glue guns and dozens of children’s binoculars.

“It all boils down to money,” said CJ Rosenbaum, a New York attorney who represents vendors who sell on Amazon, told the New York Post. “You have sellers located in China, who are just picking random addresses. And then when they need to get their products out of Amazon’s warehouses, they’re just having them sent there, because it’s just cheaper for them to do so.”
