Former actor Ojani Noa, the first of Jennifer Lopez’s four ex-husbands, has recently come out to claim that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs played a factor in the couple’s divorce.
According to Noa — who was married to Lopez from 1997 to 1998 — Jennifer Lopez was working closely with Diddy on her new album On The 6 around the time of the divorce.
Speaking to Despierta América in the wake of Diddy’s arrest last month, Noa said that the disgraced rapper and producer shares some of the responsibility for the divorce.
“Part of that divorce was Diddy’s fault,” he told Despierta América. “There, in that distance, in that separation, was where the deception started.”
“I would ask Jennifer, ‘What did I do to you so that you have taken me to court, you have accused me, you have lied, you have created false things about me and you have called several companies to throw me out and different television networks not to give me work?’”
Combs, 54 years old, was arrested by Homeland Security agents in a New York City hotel on Monday, September 16 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
After being indicted on the federal charges, Diddy pled not guilty and was denied bail before being taken to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he will remain until his trial begins in May 2025.
If found guilty, Diddy faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison. In addition to the federal charges, a litany of sexual assault lawsuits have been filed against the Bad Boy Records mogul in recent weeks and months.
Despite her past connections to Diddy, Lopez — who has been making headlines all year due to her high-profile divorce from Ben Affleck — has yet to publicly address his indictment and subsequent arrest. Lopez’s next film Unstoppable, releasing later this year, was produced by Affleck’s company.
