Joe Rogan has said that the joke Jimmy Kimmel made about President Trump’s reaction to the death of Charlie Kirk was “very funny.” Rogan made the comments on the Tuesday, September 23 episode of his podcast.

Rogan sharing his feelings about Jimmy Kimmel’s Charlie Kirk comments came the same day that Kimmel returned to the air following his brief suspension. During his monologue, Kimmel got emotional a handful of times, including when praising the response of Kirk’s widow Erika.

There has been much made about the specific comments Kimmel made that triggered the suspension, as many believe they were largely misinterpreted, as what he actually said was that MAGA supporters were trying to portray alleged Kirk shooter Tyler James Robinson as being anything other than one of them.

“The MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said in the below video, which has been queued up to begin when he makes the comments that got him briefly suspended and the joke that Rogan shared his opinion on.

Joe Rogan thinks the joke that Jimmy Kimmel made about Donald Trump’s response to Charlie Kirk’s death was “very funny”

According to Joe Rogan, the joke that Kimmel was setting up about Trump not seeming like he was actually grieving was “good” and “very funny,” particularly the bit about “the fourth stage of grief being construction.

“[Kimmel] was trying to knock on the MAGA people but also set up a joke — which was good. It was very funny,” Rogan said as his guest Andrew Santino agreed.

“Like when he showed the president’s response to Charlie Kirk… the fourth stage of grief is construction,” he continued as he broke out into laughter. “He also said that’s not how a grown adult reacts in the death of his friend; that’s like a 4-year-old mourns the loss of their goldfish.”
