The 26-year-old suspect in the murder of United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, Luigi Mangione, reportedly comes from family money. As a result of his alleged crime, however, he may have forfeited his inheritance.

Luigi Mangione, 26 years old, was arrested on at an Altoona, Pennsylvania McDonald’s on Monday, December 9 and was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, forgery and providing false identification to police in Pennsylvania.

In New York, the 26-year-old has been charged with the murder of Thompson, which occurred after he was shot around 6:45 a.m. EST outside of the Midtown Manhattan Hilton Hotel on Wednesday, December 4.

Further reports indicate the words “deny”, “defend” and “depose” — terms commonly used to describe insurer tactics to avoid paying claims — were written on shell casings found at the scene of Brian Thompson’s murder.

According to TMZ, being charged with a crime might result in him losing out on his inheritance.

“Unfortunately for Luigi, he might’ve just thrown away his chunk of the family fortune … ’cause the money was put in a trust, where the trustees — one of whom is Luigi’s father Louis — have the power to make distributions. The document states the trustees can withhold the money if the person who would receive it has been “charged, indicted, convicted of or pleads guilty to a felony.” [via TMZ]

Mangione’s lawyer Tom Dickey has been bullish about his client’s case, however, saying that he plans to plead not guilty and that he hasn’t seen “any evidence” that Mangione committed the crimes he’s being charged with.

“I haven’t seen any evidence that they have the right guy. I haven’t seen a speck of evidence at all. They need to convince me,” Dickey told CNN earlier this week.

Mangione is curently being held without bail at the State Correctional Institution in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Video from outside the jail taken earlier this week captured audio of prisoners from inside the jail yelling messages of support for Mangione, such as “Luigi’s conditions suck!” and “Free Luigi!.
