Marty Supreme will be released in theaters by A24 on Christmas Day — December 25, 2025.
First trailer for Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme starring Timothee Chalamet released
Chalamet was most recently seen starring as the legendary Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s 2024 film A Complete Unknown, which earned him a second Best Actor nomination before turning 30 years old. The acclaimed young actor also recently began production on the third and final film in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy.
Based on reports out of production and the first look at Chalamet in this trailer, the A-lister certainly looks like he could be in line for a third Best Actor nomination.
After directing Good Time and Uncut Gems alongside his brother Benny Safdie, Marty Supreme represents Josh Safdie’s first solo directorial effort. Coincidentally, his brother Benny has also directed an A24 sports drama that’s set to release later this year, as he helmed The Rock and Emily Blunt-starring The Smashing Machine, which releases in October.
Given the A24 backing, acclaimed of the filmmakers and the promising first trailers, it looks like both Marty Supreme and The Smashing Machine could be Best Picture contenders at next year’s Academy Awards.
