Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown announced that she and husband Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl. Brown is 21 years old and Bongiovi is 23.
Given their relative youth — not only is having children in your early 20s far more uncommon than it used to be, adopting at that age is even rarer — Millie Bobby Brown’s announcement that the pair had adopted a child sparked tons of debate on social media.
While there has been plenty of discourse about Brown adopting a child at the age of 21 years old, not only is it not really the public’s place to weigh in, but it’s not our job to amplify it, either. She’s an adult and she’s allowed to make her own decisions.
Netflix has taken so long to make Stranger Things that Millie Bobby Brown has grown up, gotten married, and adopted a kid
That said, one strand of the discussion that is worth highlighting is how it reflects on Netflix, as it has taken them 10 years — a decade in which Brown has become a child star, gotten engaged and married, and has now adopted a baby — to produce just five seasons of Stranger Things.

It must feel insane to be married with a kid and then go on set and have to pretend to be a 12 year old https://t.co/Z01nC9Ughz

Brown, born in the year 2004, landed her first acting role when she was 9-years-old on th TV show Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. After bit part roles on series such as NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy, Brown got her breakthrough role when she was cast as Eleven on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, arguably the most popular thing the streamer has ever produced.
Season one of Stranger Things, however, premiered in 2016, when Brown was 12 years old. Now, with the fifth and final season set to premiere in November, she’s 21-years-old and married with children.
