Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, had to miss out on the final day of the 2025 Miss Universe pageant. The reason? She fell off the stage the day before. That’s right. She walked right off the stage.

The 28-year-old ophthalmologist was doing her model walk on the Miss Universe stage in Bangkok, Thailand, in a sparkly orange gown when she faceplanted into the audience. (The irony of her being an ophthalmologist and not seeing the edge of the stage was not lost on the internet.)

Footage of the mishap shared on social media shows members of the crowd leaping up to assist her following the fall. Another video shows Gabrielle Henry being carted away from the scene on a stretcher.

Updates reveal Miss Jamaica is recovering from her fall at a local hospital

“The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization wishes to advise the public that Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, experienced a fall from the main stage during the evening gown round of the preliminary competition ahead of this weekend’s Miss Universe Finals in Thailand,” the organization wrote.

“She was rushed to the Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries; however, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.

“We kindly ask everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care. We thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support, and continued prayers.”

The owner of the Miss Universe pageant, Raul Rocha, also shared an update on Gabrielle Henry’s condition.

“I would like to share with the Miss Universe family that are concerned for the health of our Miss Universe Jamaica that at 12:10 a.m. Bangkok time, that I have just left the hospital where she is being treated,” Rocha wrote. “I was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones, and she is under good care.
