Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming documentary Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The doc, which will include footage in the days leading to Combs’ arrest, will hit Netflix on Tuesday, December 2.
The documentary was produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, who sold the project to Netflix in May 2024. Unfortunately, however, the doc seems to have abandoned the title that 50 Cent teased when the project was announced, “Diddy Do It?”.
In their official synopsis for the project, Netflix says that the four-part documentary will be an examination of a “media mogul, music legend and convicted offender.”
On September 16, 2024, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested and indicted in the Southern District of New York on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation for purposes of prostitution, and is currently serving a 50 month prison sentence at Fort Dix after being convicted on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“Diddy. Puff Daddy. Love. The public knows the hip-hop icon by many names — but who is the real Sean Combs? In a new four-part documentary by Emmy and Grammy Award–winning executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Emmy Award-winning director Alexandria Stapleton, Sean Combs: The Reckoning is a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender,” Netflix says of the documentary in the official synopsis.
“Born with an insatiable drive for stardom and a knack for spotting talent, Combs made a quick ascent through the ranks of the music industry with Bad Boy Entertainment and was crucial in bringing hip-hop to the pop masses and launching the careers of dozens of generation-defining artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane.”
“But along the way, and as detailed by his former associates, childhood friends, artists, and employees, something darker began to color his ambitions. Through explosive, never-before-seen materials (including footage from the days leading up to Combs’s indictment and arrest, and exclusive interviews with those formerly in his orbit), this documentary tells the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built — and the underworld that lay just beneath its surface.”
After his arrest in September 2024, his trial began on May 5, 2025, and was concluded after three days of deliberation, on July 2, 2025, with the jury finding Combs guilty on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution involving ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, another former girlfriend, and male sex workers.
