The first look at Disney+’s highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobiseries is here, and with it comes the promise of Anakin Skywalker’s Darth Vader returning.

When Obi-Wan Kenobi was first announced, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy teased that the showdown between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader would be the “rematch of the century.” This is obviously a reference to the pair’s bout in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which saw Obi-Wan defeat and severely disfigure his former padawan Anakin Skywalker, who would then go on to become Darth Vader.

In addition to Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi — which is directed by Deborah Chow, the filmmaker behind some of the best episodes of The Mandalorian — also stars Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and Maya Erskine.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is just one of the many Star Wars series that will be hitting Disney+ in the coming years. In addition to Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett will hit Disney+ in December. Furthermore, season three of The Mandalorian is currently in production, with series such as Andor, The Acolyte, Ahsoka, and Lando in various stages of development.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+ in the Spring of 2022.
