After a clip of a woman in visible distress after being pepper-sprayed went viral, a TikTok creator broke down what led to the moment she says she had to use self-defense at a pizza place in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
Haven’s (@slice_0f_haven) storytime video hit over 1.1 million views and gave curious TikTok users the full story they were waiting for.
What Happened In The Viral Video?
The original clip, now at more than 4 million, shows the aftermath—a woman screaming while a restaurant worker tries to hold her back.
“You shouldn’t have come at me,” Haven says off-camera. As the woman attempts to charge again, Haven warns, “B—-, I’ll spray you again. Go!”
The woman cries out, “No! No!” as the employee holds her in place. A staffer off to the side can be heard saying, “The cops are on their way.”
“Throwback to the best day of my life when i got to pepper spray this crazy lady,” Haven added in the caption of that video.
So, What Exactly Led To The Pepper Spray Moment?
In her storytime, Haven says the incident happened about a year ago, during her birthday trip to Broken Bow.
She says that she and a group of friends, along with her mom, rented a cabin and planned a chill weekend. On the second night, she says they stopped at a local pizza place to grab dinner before heading back to the hot tub.
“It was pretty busy that night,” she says. They got seated outside at a corner booth. A couple sat nearby, and a few other large parties joined shortly after.
While trying to decide what to order, and eyeing a particular salad, Haven says her mom pointed out a waiter carrying a huge bowl and said, “’Oh my god, that must be the salad.’” At the time, it didn’t seem like a big deal, but Haven says that moment may have triggered everything.
Not long after, Haven says the nearby couple got up to leave. Haven says she noticed the woman looked visibly upset and red in the face, like she’d been crying.
The TikToker says the woman then turned to Haven’s table and apologized, saying, “’I’m really sorry if I made you ladies uncomfortable tonight. My grandpa just died.’”
They all responded with sympathy, but the woman turned to her partner and, according to Haven, muttered, “’Funny how when you confront people, they don’t wanna own up to their s—,’” then launched into a rant.
That’s when Haven says she spoke up. She recalls saying, “’Lady, we weren’t even looking at you. We weren’t talking about you.’”
Things escalated quickly. Haven says the woman started yelling, calling Haven’s mom a “’bang a– b—-‘”—a term Haven says she still doesn’t understand—and referred to the group as “’city b——.’”
At that point, Haven says management and a restaurant mediator asked the couple to leave and escorted them outside.
“They walk them out to the parking lot,” Haven says, “and then they came back up to us like, ‘Hey, are you guys OK?’”
Haven says she insisted she was fine, but some of her friends felt anxious and wanted to take their food to go. She pushed back. “’We’re staying. We’re eating our food; we’re gonna have a good time,’” she recalls telling them.
‘She Came Right Back And Came Right Up To Me’
Just as things seemed to settle, she says one of her friends noticed the woman walking back toward the restaurant from the parking lot.
“She came right back,” Haven says. “She came right up to me.”
At first, she thought the woman wanted to exchange words. But then, “She actually came at me. And that’s when I picked up the pepper spray. And I sprayed her.”
Even after getting sprayed, Haven claims the woman kept charging. Trapped in the corner booth, Haven says she lifted both her feet and kicked the woman in the chest.
“She flies back, our waitress tackles her and is like, ‘No ma’am, no ma’am, you gotta go,’” Haven recalls. “The cops are on their way.’”
That’s the moment the viral video captured. “That’s me saying, ‘Yeah, because you were coming at me. B—-, I’ll spray you again,’” Haven explains.
According to Haven, police eventually arrived, and everyone involved, including bystanders from the nearby table, filled out incident reports. No arrests took place.
“I didn’t think that video was gonna blow up like that,” Haven admits. “It just reminds me of that day and how crazy it was.”
Before leaving the restaurant, Haven says that some guests even asked her to autograph their pizza boxes.
Was Pepper-Spraying Her Actually Legal?
In the U.S., people can legally buy, carry, and use pepper spray, as long as they don’t have a felony conviction and only use it in self-defense.
That said, the law only protects someone if they reasonably believed they were in danger. In Haven’s case, the police took everyone’s statements, and since she wasn’t arrested, they likely viewed it as justified. Witnesses backing her up probably helped.
But if someone uses pepper spray without cause, it’s a different story. They could face charges like physical harassment, assault, or reckless endangerment. Those charges come with serious consequences—anywhere from a $500 fine to up to 10 years in prison.

“So she reaaaaally wanted to start fight, and then when she started the fight it was too much for her,” another added.
