During Game 3 of the First Round WNBA playoff series between the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream on Thursday night, a police officer bizarrely shooed Fever players off the court as they went to check on an injured teammate. Given the overreach of authority, the clip of the cop went viral on social media.
While Indiana Fever guard Odyssey Sims way laying on the court while recovering from a knock, street-clothed and injured players Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham wandered onto the court to see how she was doing.
The pair of players weren’t able to make it further than the halfway line, however, as they were stopped by a female police officer who shooed them backward.

The Indiana Fever, despite being without star Caitlin Clark and rotation fixture Sophie Cunningham, beat the Atlanta Dream by a score of 87-85, giving them a clinching 2-1 series victory.
In the win, the Fever were led by guard Kelsey Mitchell, who scored 24 points. Aliyah Boston was also a key contributor with a double-double, as she posted 14 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.
With the win over the Atlanta Dream in Game 3 of the First Round, the sixth-seed Indiana Fever have advanced to the semi-finals, where they’ll take on three-time WNBA MVP A’Ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.
On the other side of the bracket, the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx have already clinched their spot in the semi-finals and will take on the winner of the first round series between the Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty, who will play their series-deciding Game 3 on Friday, September 19 at 9 p.m. EST.
The Fever being able to reach the semi-finals of the WNBA playoffs with Clark must have fans of the franchise eager to see what the team will be able to do next season when she’s healthy.
