President Donald Trump is speaking out on potentially reversing the TikTok ban. Over the weekend, Trump revealed that he was issuing an executive order to allow TikTok to have more time to sell to a US company.
“I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order,”
“I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to say up,”
Trump was asked why he changed his mind on banning TikTok, considering he intially tried to take down the app back in 2020.
Because I got to use it,” “And remember, TikTok is largely about kids, young kids. If China is going to get information about young kids, I don’t know. To be honest with you, I think we have bigger problems than that.”
