A Tampa man on a Royal Caribbean cruise thought his drinks package would help moderate his alcohol intake. That is until he learned he’s got the unlimited version.
TikTok user McCabe (@mccabe_21) posted a video with his unlimited drinks package revelation last week.
“It’s a bad day to be a drink,” McCabe says from outside The Vue Bar. “Because let me tell you. I just went to the bartender. And I said, ‘Hey, what drink am I on? When do I need to chill out?’”
That’s when the bartender delivered the mixed news. “Well, you got unlimited, sir. I think they tell you 15 a day, but it’s really—just keep it going,” the bartender allegedly responded.
In the caption, McCabe writes, “PSA for everyone saying it’s 15 drinks per day with the drink package on a cruise.”
Viewers React To The Unlimited Drinks Package Revelation
In the comments, viewers clarified the distinction between fine print on various cruise drink packages.
“Carnival has the 15 per day rule, Royal Caribbean does not,” offered one viewer.
“Fifteen is on Carnival and Princess,” a second user agreed. “Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are unlimited.”
“Norweigian limits the unlimited drinks package… to two at a time,” joked a third person.
“My Royal Caribbean daily average was 28,” said another cruise-goer.
However, some people said it is possible to reach the limit. “I got cut off at 15,” said one person. “And it was only 9pm.”

What Is The Royal Caribbean Drinks Package?
Royal Caribbean offers cruise goers three options when it comes to the drinks package. The classic package includes fountain sodas with free refills, and the refreshment package adds mocktails, coffee, and juice. The deluxe beverage package, which is apparently what McCabe purchased, includes all of that—plus unlimited alcoholic beverages.
According to the FAQ page, that means there is no daily limit for drinks. Deluxe beverage package holders can order one drink at a time from the moment they get onboard. The package doesn’t apply to room service or the minibar, which will of course be an additional charge. It’s also important to note the 18% gratuity charge.
In a post to Reddit’s r/RoyalCaribbean two years ago, a person asked about how the rules are enforced. One person said, “One drink per card at a time. Exceptions include getting a bottle of water with an alcoholic drink. Maybe with some bartenders you can get a shot and chaser. But nothing more exciting than that. Unlike other cruise lines, you only get cut off if they deem it necessary (too drunk, belligerent, etc).”
