‘My Husband…’: Sam’s Club Shopper Share What Lie Gets Her In Without Membership ‘Every Time’

Membership-based warehouse stores like Sam’s Club and Costco are wildly popular for a reason. For a flat annual fee, shoppers can buy bulk groceries, fill up their gas tanks at lower prices, and score discounts on clothing, home goods, and electronics. And with food prices constantly climbing, these perks are more valuable than ever. But what happens if you don’t have your membership card on you?

One woman on TikTok claims she’s found an easy way to get past the front door—no card required.

‘My Husband Already In Here’

TikTok user Taylor (@taylorbnice) shared her go‑to tactic for breezing past the card checkers at the entrance. Her video, filmed inside Sam’s Club, has already been viewed over 461,200 times.

“Every time I come to Sam’s Club and they ask to see my membership when I come in the door, I’ll be like, ‘I’m coming to meet my husband,’” she explains. “My husband already in here.”

Taylor adds that she sometimes will say that her husband has the physical card.

“’Cause why the f— I gotta pull out my membership?” she asks, questioning who would want to even enter the store without a membership.
After sharing her trick, she pivots to browsing for a good deal on a TV.

Can You Actually Shop At Sam’s Club Without A Membership?

While Taylor’s “tip” might get you through the front door, it won’t get you through checkout.

According to Sam’s Club policy, non‑members can only use the pharmacy, optometrist, possibly some alcohol sections (depending on state law), and the café (sometimes). Buying anything from the main store requires an active membership, which costs $50 a year for the basic tier or $110 for Plus.

For those hesitant to commit, Sam’s Club also offers guest passes and free trial memberships so new customers can try out the service before paying the full fee.

Commenters Are Divided

Taylor’s video stirred up debate. Many users weren’t impressed with her approach.

“Just try following the rules. It’s not hard,” one person wrote.

Another added, “Lady take that chip off your shoulder. Can’t you follow rules? Why do people have to make things more complicated than they are?”

Others, however, sided with her. “You literally can’t check out without a membership,” one viewer pointed out. “I don’t know why they check at the front.”
