Actress Sydney Sweeney recently called off her engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino. According to reports, the 27-year-old actress did so because she’s not ready to settle down.

Over the last couple years, Sydney Sweeney has exploded and has not only become one of the fastest-rising actresses in Hollywood but also somethng the industry hasn’t seen in a while, and that’s a genuine sex symbol (think Sharon Stone post-Basic Instinct).

As such, Sweeney is entering a key phase of her career as she loads up on a wide variety of projects in the coming years, such as season three of Euphoria, Eden, Echo Valley, The Housemaid, a Christy Martin biopic, Scandlous!, Gundam, I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl, Barbarella, and more.

According to sources, who say the pair’s relationship had been ‘rocky for a long time’, while her loaded schedule didn’t overwhelm Sweeney, her pending marriage to Davino did, resulting in her calling it off.

“The source also said Sweeney ‘didn’t feel right’ about tying the knot with the businessman, leading to her decision to end their engagement.”

“’She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.’” [via People]

Just days after news of Sweeney calling off her engagement to Davino broke, she was spotted at the wedding of Glen Powell’s sister, sparking further romance rumors between the A-list Anyone But You co-stars.

Next up for Sweeney will be Echo Valley, releasing on AppleTV+ on June 13, which she stars in alongside Julianne Moore, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, and Fiona Shaw.

Her Ron Howard-directed film Eden, which premiered at a film festival last September, also recently secured a distributor and will hit theaters on August 22 (although it’ not a good sign that a film that boasts Sweeney, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law and Daniel Bruhl struggled so mightily to find distribution.)
