The Texas flooding earlier this month was one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in recent memory. The death toll is nearing 100 as many found it impossible to safely evacuate.

As impacts of the flooding continue to be uncovered, videos of incredible bravery and heroics are beginning to surface. One, in particular, is now going viral on social media.

Time lapses of the disaster show just how quickly things escalated. In a matter of minutes, the Llano River in Central Texas had completely overtaken roadways and the surrounding landscape.

As the water continued to rise, so too did the speed at which it traveled. The conditions nearly proved fatal for a woman trapped and unable to swim to safety.

A clip shows volunteers risking it all to save a woman from drowning as she struggled to keep her above the rushing river waters.

Rescue operations are still underway in the area that was devastated by flash flooding during last week’s catastrophic storm. Frantic cries for help can be heard from the man desperately attempting to keep her afloat. Bystanders took it as a call to action as they successfully pulled everyone from danger. It truly took an army.

A woman claiming to be the woman’s daughter, Cindy Elguezabal, commented on the efforts while describing the circumstances leading to the frightening scene.

“That’s my mom they rescued,” Elguezabal wrote. “She’s 71, had a stroke a few years ago so limited mobility on her right side, and can’t swim. She was in the water for 2 hours. We’re beyond grateful to these heroes. God bless everyone affected by the Texas floods.”

Heroes from the Texas flooding continue to emerge.

BroBible wrote earlier this week of a US Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer responsible for saving 165 lives in Central Texas. Making that feat all the more impressive is the fact that it was his very first rescue mission.

Videos of others giving up their own safety to help those in need are now circulating the internet.
