Much like when Netflix documentary Making A Murderer took over the world with its incredibly intriguing story of true crime, the Tiger King story of Joe Exotic, Big Cat Rescue owner Carole Baskin and others related to the seedy world of collecting big cats, has done the same.

Also, much like with Making A Murderer, Tiger King has now inspired its viewers to start delving deeper into the crimes alleged and otherwise of those featured in the documentary.

One Tiger King viewer has a vested interest in solving one of the alleged crimes: the mysterious disappearance of Carole Baskin’s second husband, multi-millionaire Jack “Don” Lewis.

The investigation involving Lewis, last seen on August 18, 1997, is still open according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister and he is now looking for new information that might help him solve the cold case.

“Since @netflix and #Covid19 #Quarantine has made #TigerKing all the rage, I figured it was a good time to ask for new leads. #CaroleBaskin #DonLewis #Netflix #Tiger #BigCatRescue #JoeExotic #TigerKingNetflix #HCSO,” Chronister tweeted on Monday.

No one has ever been arrested in the disappearance of Lewis, who was declared legally dead one day after Baskin was legally allowed to do so.

Relatives and associates of Lewis, as well as Joe Exotic, stated in Tiger King that they believe Baskin either killed him or had him killed, then either ground up his body and fed it to the tigers or buried him underneath a septic tank on the Big Cat Rescue property.

Baskin denies all of the allegations made against her in the Netflix documentary in a 4,100-word essay she penned on the Big Cat Rescue website.
