American Eagle has announced a partnership with Travis Kelce’s clothing brand “Tru Kolors by Travis Kelce,” which he founded in 2019. The announcement came just one day after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made his engagement to Taylor Swift public.
The partnership between American Eagle and Travis Kelce certainly comes at an interesting time for the clothing company as it’s found itself in the headlines over the last month or so since announcing a partnership with Sydney Sweeney.
AE’s ad with Sweeney, called “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” instantly turned into a Fox News culture war and gave the company a brief stock bump that will ultimately be wiped out by Doandl Trump’s tariffs.
Just about a month after launching the Sweeney campaign, American Eagle announced that they’re going into business with another of the most recognizable faces in pop culture: Travis Kelce.

“I’ve had to keep my excitement about this collab under wraps for nearly a year. It was an awesome opportunity to team up with an established brand where both sides were excited to truly collaborate on every decision in the design and creative process that brought the ‘AE x TK’ collection to life,” Kelce said in a statement,
“I started Tru Kolors in 2019 on the foundation of showing up authentically and having fun with style, and we wanted this collab to reflect that same energy. I want everyone to feel like there is something for them in the collection, something they can feel good in and make their own. I’m excited for it to finally be out in the world.”
The announcement of the collaboration between American Eagle and Kelce’s “Tru Kolors by Travis Kelce” brand came just a day after the future Hall of Fame tight end and pop star Taylor Swift announced on Instagram that they had gotten engaged.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” read the Instagram post announcing their engagement, which has over 30 million likes at the time of this writing.
The most-liked Instagram post of all-time was posted by Argentinian soccer icon Lionel Messi after he won the 2022 World Cup. The “world recoord egg” is in second with 60 million likes, followed by Messi again with his second celebratory World Cup post.
