‘Nobody Told Us’: Woman Goes To Twin Peaks With Her Man For Some Nachos. She Didn’t Realize What Happens On Friday Nights

On a recent Friday night, a husband and wife decided to go to Twin Peaks for brisket nachos. As they sat at their table, the scene that unfolded around them left both of them stunned.

As Darrick Bell documented on their TikTok account, @yorockthebells, the atmosphere was decidedly adult.

“Nobody told us Twin Peaks is a strip club on Friday nights,” the on-screen caption reads.

In the post, both he and his wife, Tosha Bell, give wide-eyed looks at the camera. “Wow,” Darrick mouths.

“It’s going down at Twin Peaks, dog. Friday night,” he says aloud.

Tosha then mouths the words, “We didn’t know.”

Darrick jokingly puts a pinky to the corner of his mouth like Dr. Evil in “Austin Powers” and repeats out loud, “We didn’t know.”

Several people accused Darrick of being well aware that Twin Peaks’ Friday night entertainment is more risque than a weekday lunch. In the caption and comments, Darrick maintains that he had no idea.

If he had, the couple probably wouldn’t have taken their daughter to Twin Peaks for dinner that night. As he writes in the caption, “We normally come to get brisket nachos midday. We thought we’d pick up some tonight and we were surprised to say the least….with our daughter.…she’s grown but dang!”

The Bells didn’t immediately respond to an email from BroBible.

Bikini Baristas

Twin Peaks is what’s known as a “breastaurant.” The term, sometimes used pejoratively, refers to restaurants where the typically all-female waitstaff wear extremely revealing clothing. Uniforms feature items like short shorts, crop tops, and the like—most of it extremely form-fitting.

These servers are sometimes called “bikini baristas,” a nod to the fact that some actually do wear bikinis.

Most of the time Twin Peaks servers wear low-cut cropped plaid red tops and jean shorts. For special events, they’ll switch to camouflage tops.

Sometimes, as many shocked restaurant-goers have discovered, the staff might simply wear lingerie.

I worked at Twin Peaks and let me tell you! I never worked on Fridays,” a woman commented on the Bells’ post. “It felt so uncomfortable.”

A Tripadvisor reviewer describes the chain as “a strip club with food.” But it’s not clear that Twin Peaks servers actually strip. If so, the restaurant would simply have to comply with local ordinances and zoning codes.

Just The Tips

Breastaurants like Twin Peaks have been controversial since the first Hooters opened in Clearwater, Florida, in 1983.

Some argue that these establishments objectify women.

“There used to be one on the Vegas strip and we went to it, like, this’ll be hilarious. It wasn’t hilarious,” a Redditor quipped about Twin Peaks earlier in the year. “We were in an actual strip club later that night and that felt less degrading.”

Some current and former staff have reported being mistreated by customers and other staff at various breastaurants. There are also women who forbid their significant others from going to such places.

But the concept remains strong, as does its market share. In addition to Twin Peaks, there’s Tilted Kilt, Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill, Ojos Locos, and others.

Feminists and more puritanical people often wonder why a woman would willingly squeeze into a tiny top and booty shorts to serve chicken wings to horny men.

A self-described Twin Peaks Girl, or TPG, who commented on the Bells’ post says it’s all about the money. (Servers in such establishments do report making more money than they would in traditional restaurants.)

“We’re just there to get our bag and leave,” Kayla wrote.
