Is it a bird? Is it a plane? That’s what UNLV football coach Dan Mullen wanted to know when he took to social media on Sunday night to point out a mysterious UFO flying over the night sky in Las Vegas.

Mullen, best known for coaching runs at Mississippi State and Florida, is in his first year with the Rebels and is off to an impressive 4-0 start.

But it seems football isn’t the only thing on his mind. The 53-year-old took to X on Sunday and posted a video, seemingly from his backyard, of a ghost-like white figure breaking through the darkness of the night sky just outside of Las Vegas.

Dan Mullen’s Mysterious UFO Sighting In Las Vegas Is Actually Easily Explained

Given Las Vegas’ proximity to Area 51, just under 90 miles away, you could understand why someone would be unnerved by such a sight.

“What is this over Las Vegas tonight?” Mullen asked in the post.

Unfortunately for conspiracy theorists and alien believers alike, this one is likely easily explained.

See, in addition to being near Area 51, Las Vegas is also within viewing distance of both satellites and rockets launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in Southern California.

On Sunday night, SpaceX launched 28 new Starlink satellites from the base.

In all likelihood, this is exactly what Mullen saw. However, you never know! Just recently, residents in both Mexico and California spotted similarly bizarre UFOs.
