Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel says that Brian O’Conner, the character played by the late Paul Walker, could be returning for Fast and Furious 11. Walker died at the age of 40 years old in a car accident in 2013.
Paul Walker, who starred alongside Diesel in the original Fast and Furious film, died before the completion of Furious 7, leading his brother Cody to fill in to complete his scenes, most famously “See You Again” moment at the end of the film.
Over the weekend at a fan event in California, Vin Diesel implied that the likeness of Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner would be appearing in the 11th and allegedly final Fast & Furious film.
Diesel made the comments at Fuel Fest, a car enthusiast event in Pomona, California, alongside franchise co-star Tyrese Gibson and Paul Walker’s brother Cody.
@stratussco Fuel Fest Announcement! 2 more years until we see the Finale! You heard it here first. #fastandfuriousedit #vindiesel #paulwalker #fastandfurious
“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of ‘Fast and Furious’ [in] April 2027?’ I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner,” Diesel said at the event.

The egomania with which Diesel positions the anecdote — ‘Vin, can we please…’ — is reminder enough that the sooner this franchise ends and he fades into obscurity, the better.
“Very BLEAK s— unfolding at this very moment in the Fast & Furious franchise. Reach out to your friends,” one viral tweet reacting to the news said.
The most recent film in the franchise was 2023’s Fast X, which grossed $714 million at the global box office, making it the lowest- grossing film in the franchise since 2011’s Fast Five.
