Jimmy Fallon and Will Smith Do ‘The Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing’ On ‘The Tonight Show’

Jimmy Fallon’s opening line for his Tonight Show premiere absolutely killed it: “I’m Jimmy Fallon and I’ll be your host… for now.” After a short introduction to the 11:30 audience (which was really about 11:55…), Fallon’s first show in Studio 6B featured appearances from Will Smith, U2, and pretty much every known celebrity in the zeitgeist, ending with Stephen Colbert welcoming him to 11:30, “bitch.”

Kicking things off in true Jimmy Fallon form, he and Will Smith did hip-hop dancing through the years: Some of the moves with the Fresh Prince include the “Spank That,” the MC Hammer,  and, of course, “The Carlton.
