The New Trailer for David Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’ Is Super-Intense

David Fincher has made some fantastic dramas in his day: The Social Network, Fight Club, Se7en, House of Cards, etc. Ben Affleck stars in his latest film, Gone Girl, based on the bestseller by Gillian Flynn. The plot is about a chaotic media circus after Ben Affleck’s wife, played by Rosemund Pike, disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary and her husband is suspected of murdering her.

It already feels like a dark, existential movie a.l.a. True Blood and all the other popular character-driven noir as of late (i.e.: HBO’s The Leftovers).  It’s a space David Fincher’s past work has thrived in. Gone Girl is going to be so much more than a whodunit and I can’t freakin’ wait.

Hits theaters October 3rd.
