You Can Literally Walk Through A Map Of Westeros With This Epic ‘Game of Thrones’ 360 VR Video

Immersive VR is rapidly changing how we consume and interact with massive entertainment franchises. By throwing a headset on, you can literally stroll through a completely different world. It was only a matter of time before HBO’s Game of Thrones got in on the fun with Oculus Gear VR and Rift.

Game Of Thrones just released “an immersive 360 experience” on Facebook where you can explore the Westeros map in the intro for Game of Thrones. It’s easily one of the coolest uses of 360 video to date. Facebook says that Game Of Thrones fans will soon be able to experience it in total VR with Oculus Gear VR and Rift.

I hope by the end of Game Of Thrones Season 6 there’s a VR experience where you’re in the middle of an episode. I’d pay more than just an HBO subscription fee for the opportunity to follow Tyrion Lannister around in exile.
