As BroBible’s token hipster douche heady craft beer snob, I have to be honest — I don’t give a second thought to Canadian beers. My knowledge starts and stops with Molson, Labbat, and Moosehead, all of which I’ve pretty much only ever consumed out of plastic cups at hockey games. I don’t doubt that the craft beer movement that’s swept America has done the same up in the Great White North, but if you were to ask me about a famous local craft brew in, say, Calgary or Montreal or Halifax or, hell, even Toronto, I couldn’t name a single one.

Thanks to craft brew culture, American beer is really, really good these days, if you have a palate for non-garbage water. So how do these fine American brews stack up against Canada’s best beers? Buzzfeed did a little taste test. The result will surprise you…
