The College World Series is down to just four teams battling it out for a chance to claim the title of national champion. The final bracket includes two schools with championship history, and two more searching for their first trophy.
Of the bunch, LSU boasts the most prominent past of success in Omaha with seven titles, while Coastal Carolina is batting 1.000 at the College World Series with one title in one trip.

There are a total of 32 programs that have won a national championship. Of that group, 15 have hoisted multiple trophies while nine have the honor of claiming three or more titles.
Cal, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Stanford, and Vanderbilt were close to making this list but came up just short. Below are the 9 schools with the most College World Series titles.

The Golden Gophers were a frequent flyer in Omaha during the late 1950s and 1960s. They were also extremely successful in their first three College World Series fields.
Minnesota made its first three appearances in 1956, 1960, and 1964. They won national championships on each occasion. The program also made it to Omaha in 1973 and 1977, but it hasn’t been back in nearly five decades.

Oregon State has had much more recent success than the last team mentioned. They, too, have won three national titles, though each has come within the last 20 years.
The Beavers went back-to-back in 2006 and 2007, besting North Carolina in both championship series. They won it all again in ’18 and were going for a fourth title this season before being eliminated by Louisville.

Arizona is the first of three programs on this list that boasts four national championships. The first came in 1976 followed by wins in 1980, 1986, and 2012.
The Wildcats have returned to Omaha three times since winning their last title, including this past season. Arizona was unable to get its fifth championship after going 0-2 at the College World Series in 2025.
Cal State Fullerton Titans (4)

Cal State Fullerton is the lone traditional mid-major program on this list, though that status hasn’t prevented the Titans from college baseball success. The school has four national titles.
Fullerton won it all in four different decades, bringing home championships in 1979, 1984, 1995, and 2004. They’ve since been back to the College World Series five times but have been unable to capture title No. 5.
Miami Hurricanes (4)

Miami is the last of the four-championship programs, winning their last title in 2001. Prior, they took home the hardware in 1982, 1985, and 1999.
The Hurricanes have been a mainstay in Omaha dating back to the late 1970s. Their 25 total appearances at the College World Series ranks second in all of college baseball. Miami’s been in the field six times since its most recent championship but has been unsuccessful in advancing to the finals.

Arizona State owns five national championship trophies. It has five runner-up finishes, too. Much of that damage was done in the 1960s, with the Sun Devils winning titles in ’65, ’67’, and ’69.
ASU later broke through with its fourth title in 1977 after losing in the finals in ’72 and ’73. The school’s most recent championship came in 1981. The Sun Devils have been back to Omaha 11 times since.
Texas Longhorns (6)

Texas has the third-most titles in college baseball. The Longhorns have seen multiple strings of success across their storied history. The program won its first championship in 1949. It repeated in 1950.
The ‘Horns went a quarter-century without a title before winning it all in 1975. They also hoisted trophies in 1983, 2002, and 2005. Texas has the most appearances in Omaha of any team in the sport with 38.
LSU Tigers (7)

LSU had been tied with Texas at six national championships before winning it all in 2023. That team boasted top overall MLB Draft pick Paul Skenes and No. 2 pick Dylan Crews.
Each of the Tigers’ seven titles has come within the last 35 years. Five came between 1991 and 2000. LSU can win an eighth championship in 2025, but that still won’t match the No. 1 team on this list.
USC Trojans (12)

The USC Trojans had one of the most dominant runs in college baseball history in the 1970s, winning five consecutive national titles between 1970 and 1974. They tacked on another in 1978 to give them six in the decade.
The Trojans won their first of 12 total championships in 1948, while their most recent came in 1998. Despite boasting the most titles in the sport’s history, USC has not been back to the College World Series in a quarter-century.
