On Wednesday, longtime NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski announced his decision to step away from the career that made him famous after opting to part ways with ESPN and take a new job as the GM of the men’s basketball team at St. Bonaventure.
The veteran reporter became a household name among NBA fans thanks to his penchant for dropping “Woj Bombs,” the nickname given to the tweets he routinely tweeted out after getting a scoop concerning notable trades, signings, and other juicy developments.

Adrian Wojnarowski routinely sent shockwaves through the NBA world with the “Woj Bombs” that announced breaking news before it was officially announced, and it’s hard to believe he’s decided to move on from that particular pastime.
He was responsible for sharing thousands of scoops over the years, but there are definitely some that stand out from the rest of the pack.
The NBA's Decision To Suspend The Season Due To The Pandemic

COVID-19 had made plenty of headlines midway through March of 2020, but at that point, there were still some questions about whether or not it was something most people needed to be concerned with.
However, it became pretty clear it was serious business when the NBA announced its decision to suspend the season before every other major sports organization followed suit, and Wojnarowski was the first person to share the news.
Paul George Being Traded To The Clippers

The Clippers made a splash when they signed Kawhi Leonard to a max deal after free agency kicked off in 2019, and most people assumed that would be the most notable transaction of the day.
However, that all changed when we were treated to the Woj Bomb concerning the blockbuster trade that sent Paul George to Los Angeles, which dropped in the wee hours of the morning for most people.
David Stern Killing Chris Paul's Trade To The Lakers

It appeared the Lakers were on the verge of adding another formidable weapon to a backcourt that already featured Kobe Bryant when Wojnarowski announced the team was on the verge of completing a multi-team trade that involved the Hornets sending Chris Paul to Los Angeles.
However, things took a very unexpected turn just a few hours after that initial report, as the NBA Commissioner David Stern (who was overseeing the Hornets after the league purchased the team from its previous owner) overrode New Orleans GM Dell Demps to veto the transaction after caving to pushback from other owners.
The Nets Making A "Clean Sweep"

The Nets kicked off free agency with a bang when the window officially opened in the summer of 2019 by signing Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and DeAndre Jordan.
The acquisition of that Big 3 didn’t pan out as the franchise envisioned, but Wojnarowski was still able to cause quite the stir by breaking the news.
James Harden's Trade To The Rockets

It seemed like the Thunder were intent on signing James Harden to an extension ahead of what was slated to be the final season of his rookie contract.
However, Woj informed the world that would not end up being the case when he announced the guard who’d won Sixth Man of the Year honors the previous season was being traded to the Rockets in what turned out to be a very consequential move.
The Death of Kobe Bryant

There were plenty of unsubstantiated rumors Kobe Bryant was aboard a helicopter that crashed into a hill in Calabasas on January 26, 2020, and Wojnarowski confirmed our worst fears had been realized when he announced the death of the NBA legend.
Donald Sterling's Lifetime Ban

Most people assumed the NBA was going to bring the hammer down on Donald Sterling in the wake of the scandal involving racist comments caught on tape, and Woj confirmed that would be the case when he beat Adam Silver to the punch by revealing the league had opted to ban the disgraced Clippers owner for life.
LeBron James Signing With The Lakers

LeBron James mercifully spared us another installment of “The Decision” after entering free agency in 2019, and even though his agency preempted Woj’s announcement with one of its own, this tweet was still the first time a good chunk of NBA fans heard the news.
