Winning a Super Bowl is the greatest achievement in the NFL. Some teams have been able to crack the code and win multiple Super Bowls, exactly half the league has.

Below are the 16 NFL teams that have won multiple Super Bowls, from the New England Patriots at the top to the Ravens with 2 in 2 appearances right below.

The first Super Bowl took place on January 15, 1967. Since then, there have been 12 NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl. Among those teams, 4 have never even appeared in The Big Game.

These are not those teams. These are the exact opposite, in fact, and the NFL teams who have won the most Super Bowls over the years. Up first below are the two teams that have appeared in two SBs and won two for a perfect win record.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 2 Wins, 2 Appearances

My Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a 1.000 win rate in their Super Bowl history, having appeared in two and won two. Tampa Bay won its first Super Bowl in 2002 and then again in 2020 with Tom Brady during the pandemic, in a Super Bowl that was actually hosted at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Despite playing in their home stadium, the NFL didn’t allow the Buccaneers to ‘fire the cannons’ at any point during the game. Such disrespect to Brady and the Bucs.

Baltimore Ravens: 2 Wins, 2 Appearances

Another team with 2 Super Bowl wins that are undefeated in their appearances are the Baltimore Ravens. They won the Super Bowl in 2000 and 2012. Baltimore’s first Super Bowl appearance was a smackdown on the Giants, winning Super Bowl XXXV 34-7 on January 28, 2001 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Baltimore’s second Super Bowl was a lot closer, beating the 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII February 3, 2013 in New Orleans.

The Colts: 2 Wins, 4 Appearances

The Colts, currently in Indianapolis and formerly in Baltimore, have two Super Bowl titles in franchise history (1970, 2006), and two losses (1968, 2009). That 2006 Super Bowl was Peyton Manning’s only win with the Colts. He would get another with Denver but it boggles the mind he didn’t win more with Indy.

Miami Dolphins: 2 Wins, 5 Appearances

The Miami Dolphins lay claim to having a ‘perfect season’ and going 14-0 for the franchise’s first Super Bowl title in 1972. Miami would go back-to-back and win it again in 1973, beating the Vikings 24-7. They haven’t even been to the Super Bowl since 1984 though, over 40 years ago, so their era of domination feels like a relic of the past.

The Rams: 2 Wins, 5 Appearances

The Rams, formerly St. Louis and currently in Los Angeles, have appeared in 5 Super Bowls and twice emerged as victors. They won it all in 1999 and 2021, and lost the Super Bowl in 1979, 2001, and 2018. In five appearances, the Rams have scored 85 points and given up 100 points so all things considered, they didn’t lose those three games by much.

Philadelphia Eagles: 2 Wins, 5 Appearances

It took Philly a long time to get the franchise’s first Super Bowl win but they have won two in the past decade which is more than most can claim! The Eagles made their first Super Bowl in 1980 (loss), again in 2004 (a loss), then won in 2017, lost in 2022, and won it all again in 2024 after beating the Chiefs 40-22.

Despite having lost 3 Super Bowls and won 2, the Eagles have actually scored more points in Super Bowls than they’ve given up, scoring 147 points and giving up 144 in their 5 appearances.

Washington Commanders: 3 Wins, 5 Appearances

The Washington Commanders, formerly the Washington Redskins, have won 3 Super Bowls and lost two. Their wins came in 1982, 1987, and 1991 with losses in 1972 and 1983. Washington’s best showing in The Big Game was Super Bowl XXII with a 42-10 win over John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

The Raiders: 3 Wins, 5 Appearances

They’ve called many cities home throughout the years (Oakland, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas) and the Raiders are no strangers to the Super Bowl.

They appeared in the franchise’s first Big Game back in 1967 but lost. Their first win came in 1976 followed by Super Bowl wins in 1980, 1983, and a loss in 2002.

Denver Broncos: 3 Wins, 8 Appearances

The Denver Broncos have 3 Super Bowl wins which is HUGE but they have lost 5 which is tied with the New England Patriots for the most Super Bowl losses in league history.

Denver lost 4 Super Bowls before winning its first, and won it all in 1997, 1998, and 2015 while losing The Big Game in 1977, 1986, 1987, 1989, and 2013.

New York Giants: 4 Wins, 5 Appearances

Tied for the third-most Super Bowl wins in NFL history are the G-Men with 4 Super Bowl wins in 5 appearances. The Giants won it all in 1986, 1990, 2007, and 2011.

Their only Super Bowl loss came in the year 2000 during Super Bowl XXXV when the Giants got crushed by the Baltimore Ravens 34-7 at Raymond James Stadium here in Tampa, Florida.

Green Bay Packers: 4 Wins, 5 Appearances

The Green Bay Packers have a rich history with 4 Super Bowl wins in 5 appearances, but they have really been spread out over the years. Green Bay’s first Super Bowl win came in its first appearance, 1966, and they’d go back-to-back winning in 1967.

Then a long stretch before a win in 1996, a loss in 1997, and another win in 2010. They have been one of the most stable NFL franchise for decades due to solid QB play and it is a bit surprising they haven’t managed to win more Super Bowls in recent decades.

Kansas City Chiefs: 4 Wins, 7 Appearances

The Kansas City Chiefs are by all accounts the closest thing to a current ‘dynasty’ in the NFL, having won two Super Bowls so far this decade and appearing in 4.

Kansas City’s first Super Bowl appearance came in 1966 but their first win came in 1969. They would go on a long drought before winning in 2019, 2022, and 2023 for a total of 4 and 3 for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Dallas Cowboys: 5 Wins, 8 Appearances

It is safe to say the Dallas Cowboys did more with their Super Bowl wins than any other franchise because it has been 30 years since their last Super Bowl win or appearance and they still OWN the nickname ‘America’s Team.’

Dallas appeared in its first Super Bowl in 1970 but lost. They made it back the next year for the franchise first title, winning the Super Bowl in 1971, 1977, 1992, 1993, and 1995.

San Francisco 49ers: 5 Wins, 8 Appearances

The San Francisco 49ers were among the most dominant NFL teams of the 1980s. They won Super Bowls in 1981 (the first franchise appearance), 1984, 1988, 1989, and 1994. Since then, the Niners have made it back to The Big Game in 2005, 2008, and 2010 but have been winless in those three appearances.

Pittsburgh Steelers: 6 Wins, 8 Appearances

The Pittsburgh Steelers are tied with the New England Patriots for the most Super Bowl wins in league history at 6. Pittsburgh won the first Super Bowl it appeared in, 1974, and then did it again the next season winning back-to-back Super Bowls.

Their titles came during 1974, 1975, 1978, 1979, 2005, and 2008. Suffice it to say they owned the 1970s having won back-to-back Super Bowls on two separate occasions. Of the 8 Super Bowls the Steelers have appeared in they’ve won 6, a pretty good win rate.

New England Patriots: 6 Wins, 11 Appearances

The New England Patriots are tied at the top with 6 Super Bowl championships. New England made its first Super Bowl in 1985 and its second in 1996 but it wasn’t until 2001 that the Patriots franchise would win its first Super Bowl.

They then became the most dominant team in the NFL over the Brady-Belichick era, winning Super Bowls in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, and 2018. New England have twice found themselves in a Super Bowl rematch, against the Eagles and the Rams, and they have made consecutive Super Bowl appearances on two separate occasions in league history.
