Following the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, in which the New York Jets selected offensive tackle Armand Membou out of Missouri with the 10th overall pick, head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Moughy held a press conference. Naturally, they were asked about Aaron Rodgers.
Last week, Aaron Rodgers returned to The Pat McAfee Show for his nationally-televised therapy session and used most of his airtime to rip the new Jets regime of Glenn and Moughy, who were hired after the organization cleaned house following a disastrous 5-12 season.
Rodgers, 41 years old, took issue with the Jets “making” him fly across the country just to say they’re going in a different direction. After he said that, virtually the entire NFL world countered by saying he would’ve been offended had they just called him, too.
“I was kind of shocked, not shocked because I didn’t think that was a possibility… but shocked because I just flew cross country and you have told this to me on the phone,” Rodgers said.
Asked about Rodgers’ comments on Thursday night, Glenn had a hilarious response to the question, as he bluntly pivoted to praising first rounder Membou.
Aaron Glenn was asked if he had a response to Aaron Rodgers’ recent comments on the Pat McAfee Show:
“Absolutely. Membou’s a really good player and I am so excited that he’s a Jet” 😂 pic.twitter.com/w60Z1ewQuO

With the Pittsburgh Steelers, and all of the other 31 teams in the NFL, passing on Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders in the first round of the NFL Draft, speculation is increasing that the Steelers are ultimately going to decide to sign Rodgers despite the fact that he has just 13 wins in the league since 2022.
As for the Jets, after moving on from Rodgers, they’ll head into the 2025 season with Justin Fields as their starting QB under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn.
"This is [Aaron] Rodgers and the Steelers and that's the future."
