Collon Holbrook is a high school football player in Alabama. You would not know his name unless you are a local to Deatsville, if you are a huge fan of motocross racing, or if you stumbled upon his TikTok.
But you should!!
This small-town high school football player is the epitome of grit and determination. He may not be the biggest guy on the field but he is going to chop down much larger opponents like Bob Sanders.
Where is Deatsville, Alabama?
Deatsville is located right outside of Montgomery, approximately 75 miles south of Birmingham. The United State Census Bureau listed its population at 1,707 in 2024.
Although there is only one public high school in the city, Stanhope Elmore High School also serves the community in nearby Millbrook. Dee Milliner player for Stanhope before he went on to become a two-time national champion at the University of Alabama and a top-10 NFL draft pick in 2013.
Barring growth spurt, Holbrook will not follow that same path. Not does he want to.
The Deatsville-native wants to race motocross. He travels all over the country to compete in various races and his accomplishments speak for themselves. Holbrook is legit!
With that being said, he is also a genius.
And his high school football highlight reel serves as a testament to his character.
Collon Holbrook is a high school football menace.
As you can see from the photo above, Collon Holbrook is not a particularly large young man in terms of height or weight. Some might say he is small but mighty.
The tape certainly proves the latter.
I did not see Holbrook listed on the official Holtville roster so I think he plays Junior Varsity. Either way, I am so impressed by his ability to make plays. His grit and determination are one thing. His ball skills are another.
Holbrook plays the safety position. He will challenge much larger opponents— whether that be in the air or by stepping up to the second level to make a big tackle. Do not underestimate him.
This young man does not have an ounce of fear in his body. He is full-go at all times.
Collon Holbrook reminds me of Bob Sanders. The Indianapolis Colts legend played in the NFL at 5-foot-8 and flew around like a banshee.

I do not expect Holbrook to one day play in the National Football League. Nor do I think he wants to. I am just pointing out the similarities between two undersized safeties who make plays. It’s awesome to watch!
