Alan Dershowitz, the infamously seedy lawyer of deceased convicted predator Jeffrey Epstein, believes that his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell should be released from prison. Maxwell, 63, as convicted of five federal charges in 2021 and sentenced up to 65 years in prison.
Dershowitz, who was in the Jeffrey Epstein flight logs himself and admitted to receiving a “therapeutic massage” from “an old Russian” at Epstein’s home, recently did an interview on the right-wing news network Real America’s Voice.
During the interview, the 86 year old said that Ghislaine Maxwell — who the Department of Justice claims “assisted, facilitated, and participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls” — should be released from prison.
Dershowitz’s comments come as the Trump administration faces mounting pressure to release the contents of the files after trying to claim that they do not exist, with Trump himself now saying they’re a “Democratic hoax.”
Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer says Ghislaine Maxwell should be released from prison
“She shouldn’t be [in prison], but she is. She is really serving Jeffrey Epstein’s sentence,” Dershowitz said.
“After he committed suicide, there was no one else to prosecute ’cause there was no real information against anybody else and so they went after her and they sentenced her to the sentence that would have been appropriate for Epstein, but not at all appropriate for her, and so she’s appealing now and I hope the appeal will be granted. She deserves to be out.”
The Epstein files have become such a topic of interest due to the Trump administration’s handling of it that resolutions are now being brought to Congress in order to have them unsealed.
In an effort to distract from the Epstein files, Trump has turned his attention to the name and logo of the Washington Commanders, seemingly suggesting he’ll hold the team’s new stadium hostage if his name-change demands aren’t met.
