If you’ve ever been in a relationship that you knew was headed for a nasty breakup, then you understand how Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky feel right about now.
Reese, the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, established herself as a star for the Sky in her rookie season. But that didn’t lead to team success.
Chicago went just 13-27 a year ago, and things somehow got worse this season, with Reese and the Sky posting a 10-34 record, second-worst in the WNBA. And now it appears that the former LSU star has had enough.
Angel Reese Knows The Chicago Sky Are A Terrible Team
Reese made her frustration with losing abundantly clear in a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune.
I’m not settling for the same s— we did this year,” she told the paper. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.
“I’m willing and wanting to play with the best,” she added. “And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason. So it’s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can’t settle for what we have this year.”
Unsurprisingly, that didn’t sit well with her teammates, who reportedly approached Reese to discuss their displeasure with her comments. The Sky also suspended Reese for the first half of the following game.
She Moved A Fan In A ‘Free Angel’ Shirt To Courtside Seats
While Reese didn’t vocalize her disagreement with the suspension, she did display her displeasure in another manner. The two-time All-Star reportedly spotted a fan wearing a “Free Angel’ shirt at Chicago’s final home game of the season.
She then had her security team move the fan from her original seats to courtside seats meant for Reese’s friends and family.

Message sent, loud and clear.
Reese Isn’t Sad About Chicago’s Season Ending
As you can imagine, Chicago missed the WNBA playoffs by a wide margin. But that didn’t seem to bother Reese all that much. Within hours of the season ending, she took to TikTok and filmed a video on a plane, seemingly celebrating the fact that she could finally go on vacation.
@angelreese10 and diddddd @endyiarogers
Angel Reese is clearly fed up with the Chicago Sky. And the Chicago Sky are fed up with Angel Reese. It’s only a matter of time before she’s traded to a new team.
